Final Video Project

Posted on Updated on

This is my final project for DMC.  For this project I originally had planned to do a news package on a store in Burlington, NC but unfortunately that fell through at the last minute.  Instead I decided to ask a group of people one question and capture their responses.  I asked everyone, What is your biggest regret?  I started the video with a lighthearted feel by showing everyone’s reactions and then progressed into their responses.

Interview Project

Posted on Updated on

This project required me to find a subject and interview them.  This helped me practice working with the cameras and also with framing a shot and dealing with audio.

Poster Project

Posted on

For this project we were required to design a poster that mirrored the “Everyone Matters” posters.  For my poster I decided to pick something that means a lot to me.  I am a flute player and something I have really noticed in all my years of playing is the different emotions that music can evoke so I decided to represent these emotions using a painted effect.

Self-Portrait

This is a project I did over spring break.  Basically I took a photo of myself and opened it as a layer in photoshop and then opened up another blank layer under it.  Then I proceeded to paint on the photo.

Fly out the door quiz

Posted on Updated on

For quiz number 9 in Digital Media Convergence we had a “fly out the door” quiz.  Basically were give a small paragraph, which talked about McEwen School of Communications.  We then had to make a video starting with an on camera standup of us reading and then progress into b-roll of the communications school.

Still Video Project

Posted on Updated on

For this project we were each given a location and had to create a still video.  We could not use any tilts or pans and the video had to be under 30 seconds.

Text Project

Posted on Updated on

For this project we were asked to take a quote and use Final Cut to create a visual representation of the quote.  I decided to use a quote from Winnie the Pooh.  The first time I edited this I simply placed the quote on a black background and used key framing for the text. The second time I edited this I added a background and played with the key framing a little bit more.
